They are the sensual antithesis in alternative.☕🍜💓 I started listening to Mother Mother wheeen i was without a place to crash for like 6 months; yeah i could see this being a alternative counterculture stereotype fueled by c r a c k🤔 and Mindless Self Indulgence 🔥🔥🔥. (Another iconic sound) the song "Verbatim" introduced me to their music; ravenous and excited to vibe; i continued with Hayloft, Oh Ana, Body. From that point it was introvenous hype. I dig their clever, their apothegmatic, their strange talk. Hayloft is a very coming to age track describing a 2009 hookup between two young people in a time where the taboo was slowly being lifted from the topic of sexual intimacy. Songs like verbatim with a large nonbinary following; also breaking sexual taboo. Songs like "oh ana" do have subtle reference to queer partnership, and dysfunctionality in love; which is a recurring theme in their music. Topics like loneliness, mental health co-occur in most of their music; being another honest and culture unifying band. Ever since their mysic has been in my system; the paradigm was no longer about denying my own pain in the gaze of societal ideals. It was about radical acceptance and that anything could be clever and sensual.
